Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Last night I went to an Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros concert.

The first band was a beautiful southern Californian band that played deer jaws and tiny guitars. The women in the group did this crazy stomping dance, and the music made you feel like you were in a bird zoo. It was perfect.

The Magnetic Zeros were perfect. Their music has been making me so happy lately, even through this strange period of time. So seeing them live tickled my heart. For the encore, he sat us all down and sang a song about "I love you I love you."

It was at that moment, looking up at the sprinkly gold cross on his forehead, I belong to a barefoot colony.

Hair dos, What to do

I tried to do my hair like this, but I shortly realized they must have used a plate.

Then I tried to make a hat like this, but I shortly realized that it was a drawing.

I used to not be able to look at people without aging them in my head

Now I can't look at people without turning them into moomin trolls.

I have quite the strange life, little crickets.

My mother is downstairs creating a drumming circle.

I Just got home from living in the forest in a camp in Canada

There I took care of children, and took away lipstick from teenagers.

At first, I didn't realize that I literally had forgotten how to communicate with people. I saw everything in colours, I saw flowers growing out of kitchen utensils, I saw creatures coming out of people.

People often recall me from the beginning of camp as silent. I would stare at the rain as it fell and collect rose pedals for my notebooks. I would stroke my hair most recently cut short as I tried to absorb my surroundings.

I had the soft voices of others guide me, but I found my self lost in my love for the lush forest.

As children started to come, I found myself becoming a mother. Finding flashlights, stroking backs at midnights, whispering softly into the night if I heard a whimper, I was even the tooth fairy once or twice.I would teach them about fossils in limestone. I would lead them through trecks to catch frogs and would make ropes out of thin strings.

I still can see the Canadian moon when I close my eyes
